ST. JOSEPH Mo. -- Missouri Western came up short against No. 25 Washburn 1-0 Friday at Spratt Stadium.
Missouri Western (3-4-4, 1-1-2 MIAA) kept Washburn (10-1, 4-0 MIAA) scoreless in the first half before giving up the lone goal by Belle Kennedy in the 55th; Keeley Kroonenberg led Missouri Western with a season-high eight saves. The Griffons registered five shots in the loss, one of them on goal. Missouri Western faced 11 Washburn shots, nine of them on goal.
