SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Mystics Dance Team made some noise this summer, earning multiple team and individual awards at its very first UDA (Universal Dance Association) Camp on the campus of Missouri State University.

The UDA Camp kicked off on July 26th – the first team camp in Mystics' history. With this being a new experience, the Mystics achieved several marks, including a second-place finish in the home routine. All eight Mystics at the camp received a superior blue ribbon for their "A" routine – an event performed individually by each dancer.

To accompany their team accolades, the whole team received a superior ribbon for their game day routine, as well as the UDA Collegiate Award. This award is presented to the team with best school representation, meaning Head Coach Kenzie Carrigan's Mystics were recognized as great leaders, entertainers, student athletes, school ambassadors and spirit raisers. 

"The UDA camp really educated the girls and prepared them for what game days are supposed to look like," Carrigan said. "We are really excited to show Missouri Western and our community what they learned. We are bringing back a lot of material."
