Box Score EDMOND, Ok. — Griffon Tennis won its fourth match in a row this Saturday, avenging its April 12 loss to Washburn with a 4-3 final that gives Missouri Western a shot at its first-ever MIAA Championship.
Knotted a 3-3 with only No. 4 singles to go,
Anaís Peralta Criado sent the Griffons to the MIAA Championship with a three-set win, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The All-MIAA second teamer defeated Lara Schmid, who defeated
Ioanna Lathouri in No. 5 singles back on April 12 when Washburn beat MWSU, 5-2.
The Ichabods (14-11, 7-1 MIAA) took the early doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Washburn also won the doubles point back on MWSU's senior day. The Griffs (17-4, 6-2 MIAA) responded with emphatic wins in No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
