ST. JOSEPH, Mo - The Missouri Western Track & Field teams split up into two units over the weekend, converging on the Friends University Invitational in Wichita, Kansas and the David Noble Relays in San Angelo, Texas.
David Noble Relays (RESULTS)
In Texas, the women's 4x100 team of
Savannah Simmons,
Aniya Kollore,
Aneesa Abdul-Hameed and
Hanna Williams set an a program record and NCAA Provisional Mark with a third place finish and a time of 46.75. Williams, a two-time All-American in the 400m, set her first provo mark of the spring with a 400 time of 55.45.
The Griffon men also had a solid showing in the high-level Noble Relays, with
Jordan Garr and
Dallas Thompson finishing 2nd and 3rd place respecitvely in the shot put. Senior
Riley Gorham a broke the school record in the men's 1500 (3:54:44) and Michael Smith set a new program mark in the 400m (48.38). The men's 4x400 team of Smith, Gorham,
Derek Dixon and
Davon Beckles also set a new program record with a time of 3:16.14.
Friends University Invitational
Camryn Huggans and
Saquana Washington finished second and fourth respectively in the women's shot put, while
Paige Kvale finished third in the women's 800. Freshman
Alex Thompson set a school record in the 110 meter hurdles.
