Griffon Tennis Tabbed 4th in Central Region

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Continuing their best regular season in 26 years, Griffon Tennis is now ranked fourth in the Central Region, putting them ahead of MIAA rivals Northwest Missouri State and Nebraska-Kearney with just two matches to play before the conference tournament.

Missouri Western (13-4, 4-2 MIAA) has won six matches in a row twice this season, including a 6-1 win over fifth-ranked Northwest Missouri State on March 30. The Bearcats beat sixth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney while the Lopers were the No. 25 team in the nation earlier this spring.

The Griffons' next match is against UNK next Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in Kearney, Nebraska. Missouri Western's recent six-game streak fell last Saturday, April 9 when they lost to No. 6 Central Oklahoma, 7-0. The Bronchos sit on top of the region in the No. 1 spot and are winners of five straight with a perfect 4-0 record in the MIAA.
