KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its 2026 All-MIAA Women's Tennis teams and postseason award recipients on Wednesday, April 29.
Griffon Tennis placed four student-athletes on the All-MIAA teams, highlighted by a First Team Singles selection. MWSU also had two Second Team Singles honorees, a Second Team Doubles selection and an Honorable Mention Doubles nod. This group played a key role in powering the Griffons to a 12-match winning streak during the season.
Johanna Priedite earned First Team All-MIAA Singles honors after going 19-7 in singles play this season. She also posted an 8-3 doubles record alongside Cristina Granero Boj.
Jevrosima Mitic was named Second Team All-MIAA Singles after compiling a 15-9 singles record. She also went 11-6 in doubles competition with Alejandra Ramirez Botella.
Cristina Granero Boj earned Second Team All-MIAA Singles honors with a 15-6 singles mark on the year. She also teamed with Priedite for an 8-3 doubles record.
In doubles play, Mitic and Ramirez Botella were selected to the Second Team All-MIAA Doubles, while Granero Boj and Priedite picked up Honorable Mention All-MIAA Doubles recognition.
What's Next
The 2026 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 1, with No. 4 seed MWSU taking on No. 5 seed Northeastern State in a quarterfinal matchup. The Griffons enter postseason play ranked No. 45 nationally and will look to build on their strong season against a RiverHawks team they defeated earlier this year.
The winner of Friday's quarterfinal will advance to the semifinals at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, where it will face No. 1 seed Central Oklahoma.
