EMPORIA, Ks. — Griffon Track and Field started their outdoor season with many strong performances at the Emporia State Spring Invite.
Alexis Adams scored a win in the women's 800-dash, and Madison Roumph took home first place in the women's triple jump. In the women's 800m dash, Paige Kvale ran a personal best time of 2:21.57.
Jordan Garr took second place in the men's shot put. His sixth throw of 16.86 meters eclipsed the Division II provisional mark of 16.67. Garr also broke his own school record in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 55.48m.
Samantha Cerra placed second in both the women's discus throw and the women's hammer throws, recording tosses of 44.17 meters and 46.54 meters respectively. The Missouri Western women placed third out of 14 as a team while the men placed eighth out of 19.
