Maryville, Mo. - The Missouri Western indoor track teams made their 2022 debut with a pair of victories at the Northwest Open on Saturday.
Freshman Madison Nash won the Women's 3000 Meter Run with a time of 10:18.76 to secure her second career indoor victory.
Seniors Bailey Gilbert and Madison Roumph finished 1-2 in the Women's Triple Jump with Gilbert besting her teammate on her final attempt (11.08). She also finished 3rd in the Women's Long Jump.
2021 NCAA National Indoor qualifier Jordan Garr made his 2022 debut in the Men's Shot Put by hitting an NCAA Provisional Mark of 17.64. The St. Joseph native finished 2nd overall in the event.

* Senior Hanna Williams finished 2nd in the Women's 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.72. The two-time national qualifier and 2021 Outdoor All-American did not compete in her premier 400 M event.
"This was kind of a 'find our footing type of day, " Head Coach Cody Ingold said. "We had some people competing in some off events but we had throwers throw really well and runners run very well."
"I think we accomplished what we wanted to today to get ourselves better prepared for the next 4-5 events."
The Griffons will return to action on January 28th / 29th at the Pittsburg State Invitational.
