EMPORIA, Kan. - Griffon tennis (9-6) snapped a two-match losing skid with a 5-4 win at Emporia State (1-4). With the win, Missouri Western has won at least nine matches in three of the last four seasons.
 
MWSU started the match with a win at no. 3 doubles due to a forfeit by Emporia State. The Hornets picked up wins at no. 1 and no. 2 doubles to lead 2-1 heading into singles action. The Griffons wasted little time regaining the match lead with wins by Sofia Aguilera and Karolina Ström.
 
Aguilera picked up a straight set victory 6-1, 6-3 at no. 4 singles and extended her winning streak to four matches. Ström earned her 11^th victory of the season in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Emilee Dent and Katherine Yeacker picked up wins at no. 5 singles and no. 6 singles forfeits by ESU.
