TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Missouri Western defeated Southern Nazarene in their first match on Monday afternoon, 5-2 and in the second match fell to #21 Northeastern State 9-0.

Southern Nazarene
The Griffons earned two victories in doubles matches, winning in the No.2 and No. 3 sorts. Sofia Aguilera and Kayla Dysart beat their opponent 8-6 in the No. 2 spot. The other doubles victory came from Ceara Boldridge and Denise Chiao as they shut out their opponent 8-0.

Yasmine El Ghazi, Ceara Boldridge and Meara Smith all earned victories in their singles matches to help propel the Griffons to victory. El Ghazi defeated Karina Kotova 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 4 position. Boldridge continued to show her dominance not allowing her opponent to win a single set in her 6-0, 6-0 victory. Smith was efficient in her victory, winning 6-1, 6-0 to Taylor Sullivan.

The Griffons faced #21 Northeastern St. who is currently 16-4 on the season and a perfect 10-0 in MIAA competition.

In doubles matches, Missouri Western competed well against the RiverHawks. In the No. 2 position Kayla Dysart and Sofia Aguilera fell 8-5 and the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles each fell 8-4 in their match.

The Griffons couldn't claim a victory in singles matches with NSU proving their ranking of #21. Sarah Giraldo was defeated 6-0, 6-1 to #21 Kristina Savchenkov.
