ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western tennis continues to make drastic improvements from a year ago, already tallying more overall and MIAA wins than the previous year. The Griffons have a 5-4 overall record and sit sixth in the MIAA with a 2-2 record.
In singles matches,
Sarah Giraldo holds a 4-5 record playing all of her matches in the No. 1 position.
Ceara Boldridge continues to add to her career wins, tallying a 4-4 record overall, winning three of those in the No.5 spot.
Yasmine El Ghazi and Giraldo currently have a 4-2 record in doubles matches in the No. 1 spot.
Denise Chiao has played well in doubles matches, holding an overall record of 5-3 with multiple partners.
The IchabodsWashburn holds a record of 1-6 on the year with their only victory coming against conference foe Lincoln, winning 9-0. Casyn Buchman has a 51-22 career record and owns a singles record of 7-4 this year. In doubles matches, Buchman has teamed up with Jodie Blackim for a 6-1 doubles record.
The HornetsEmporia State has a 7-4 overall record and a 1-1 conference record. The Hornets have lost two straight matches, falling to Southwest Baptist 7-2 and Lewis University 6-3. Emporia State is scheduled to face Northwest Missouri State on Thursday night.
The Griffons will face off against Washburn on Thursday afternoon starting at 2 pm and will head to Emporia State for a match on Friday afternoon starting at 3 pm.
