GRIFFON TENNIS DEFEATS BAKER UNIVERSITY 8-1 SATURDAY AFTERNOON

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -
The Missouri Western tennis team beat Baker University out of Topeka, Kan. on Saturday afternoon by a score of 8-1. The Griffons won all the singles matches improving their record to 3-1 on the season.

Kayla Dysart and Alyssa Dougan defeated Caitlin Metseff and Bre Cunningham 8-0 in No. 2 doubles. The Griffons then picked up victories in singles from all six of its players which included a win by default at the No. 6 position. The Griffons also got a point by default at the No. 3 doubles position.

Denise Chiao won No. 1 singles over Daniell Griggs, 6-3, 6-3 while Ceara Boldridge won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 singles over Caitlin Metseff. Meara Smith won 7-5, 6-3 over Megan Henry at No. 3 singles while Kayla Dysart won at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-2. Lindsay Beger won in No. 5 over Victoria Bostic 6-1, 6-0.

The Griffons wrap up the fall season on October 6th with a match in St. Joseph, Mo. against Graceland (Iowa). Match time is set for 11 am.
