Todd Stutzman started his first year as Candi Whitaker's Assistant Coach in the 2022-23 season.
During his first season for the 2022-23, the program had an impressive record of 24-7 and 18-4 in the MIAA, which included wins over multiple ranked teams. Their success earned them a spot in the conference tournament. Brionna Budgetts was awarded the MIAA Player of the Week twice (Jan 24, 2023, and Feb 6, 2023), and four players were selected.
Stutzman worked as an Assistant Coach at Western Colorado for three years before joining the Griffons. During his first two years with the program, the Mountaineers went 34-13, earned their first two NCAA Tournament appearances, a program-high No. 7 national ranking, the program's first 20-win season since 1986-87, and back-to-back RMAC Tournament appearances - including the team's first RMAC Tournament win since 2012.
Before joining Western Colorado, Stutzman was the assistant women's basketball coach and the head junior varsity coach at Washburn University for four years. During his tenure at Washburn, the varsity team finished 72-46 with a winning record every season.
Stutzman earned his associate's degree in liberal arts at Hesston College, his bachelor's degree in general studies with a minor in business from the University of Kansas, and his master's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. After graduation, he worked as the director of basketball operations for the women’s basketball team for the 2014-15 season before taking the job at Washburn University.
