Outlook: There is nobody more prepared and qualified to take over our SS position...he is a very high energy player and will be amongst the best in our league...is as consistent a fielder as we've seen in a while.

2014 season: Childs had a very solid year for the Griffons starting all 52 games at short stop...he finished the season hitting .279 with 50 hits, 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 27 RBI...he had a slugging percentage of .391 and an on base percentage of .330...he stole six bases and had eight sacrifice hits...he had 69 put outs with 171 assists with 13 errors and a fielding percentage of .949...honorable mention All-MIAA...had four hits in a game three times including in the MIAA Touranment against SBU when he went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI...also had a season high four RBI against Washburn on March 10. 

Mt. Hood CC: Childs is a 5-11 infielder who comes to Missouri Western from Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore...he was a Gold Glove regional winner at third base as well as being named 2nd Team All-Region short stop...in 2012 he hit .361 with 17 runs scored, 9 RBI, 2 doubles and one home run.

High School: He played his high school baseball at Reynolds HS in Troutdale, Ore...was a 1st Team All-Conference infielder as well as Honorable Mention All-State...as a junior he was a 2nd Team All-Conference pitcher.

Personal: Son of Michael and Joy Childs...favorite food is Chipotle...favorite candy is Mike & Ike's...dream vacation spot is Australia...favorite professional sports team are the New York Yankees...favorite pro athlete is Derek Jeter...favorite video game is Super Mario on Super Nintendo...most famous person he met was Neil Everett...favorite movie is Major League...favorite cereal is Coco Puffs...favorite TV. show is Seinfeld...came to Missouri Western because of the facilities, schooling and baseball team...dream job would be to play pro baseball or be an elementary school teacher...he is also a very good student who plans on majoring in education.
