ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Soccer continues its homestand Wednesday, Sept. 9, as MoWest welcomes Southwestern Oklahoma State to Spratt Stadium for its final home non-conference match of the season.
Kickoff between the Griffons and Bulldogs is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday's matchup marks the Griffons' final non-conference contest at home before MoWest turns its attention to MIAA play. The Griffons will still have one non-conference road matchup remaining later this month, traveling to Drury on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Last Time Out
MoWest enters Wednesday's matchup unbeaten at 3-0-1 after posting back-to-back shutouts at Spratt Stadium.
The Griffons opened their home schedule with a 2-0 win over Wayne State behind goals from Cadence Dobberstein and Phoebe Brizic, with Rosemary Pujado assisting on both. MoWest followed with a 1-0 victory over Maryville as Jaida Douch scored the match-winner in the 58th minute off another Pujado assist. Morgan Byrd made five saves to secure the shutout.
MoWest has now gone unbeaten in 23 consecutive matches at Spratt Stadium. The Griffons are 18-0-5 at home since the start of the 2024 season.
What's Next
Following Wednesday's match, MoWest will have more than a week before opening conference play with back-to-back home matches at Spratt Stadium.
The Griffons begin MIAA action Friday, Sept. 18, against Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. MoWest then hosts Northeastern State on Sunday, Sept. 20, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
Following the two-match MIAA homestand, MoWest steps back out of conference play for its final non-conference matchup of the regular season at Drury on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
