ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon men's and women's golf teams are set to hit the road this week to begin their Fall 2026 campaigns. The men will travel to Warrensburg, Missouri, while the women will head to Blue Springs, Missouri, to open their seasons.
The Griffon men's golf team will open its season at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri, on Sept. 8–9 at The Mule, hosted by Central Missouri. The first two rounds will be played on Tuesday, with the final round set for Wednesday.
Senior Bennett Berger and junior Tim Johnston will lead this week's lineup, joined by sophomores Ethan Mustard and Parker Boggins and freshman Michael Atnip.
The Griffon women's golf team will also look to start its season strong Sept. 8–9 at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri, at the Central Region Fall Preview, hosted by Oklahoma Baptist.
The lineup will feature junior Lauren Mallow, sophomores Makenna Casey, Avery Wells and Raleigh Puzio, and freshmen Cydney Beckmann and Kylie Ellegood. Ellegood will compete as an individual.
The MoWest women have found success in their last two appearances at Adams Pointe, including a third-place finish and a victory. The team will look to carry that momentum into this week's season opener.
Griffon Men Picked Fourth
Griffon Men's Golf earned 51 points in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll to place fourth among the league's 10 programs.
Central Oklahoma was picked to win the MIAA with five first-place votes and 77 points. Washburn followed in second with three first-place votes and 71 points, while Central Missouri received two first-place votes and 69 points to take third.
MoWest came in fourth ahead of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern, Newman, Northeastern State and Rogers State.

Griffon Women Selected Eighth
Griffon Women's Golf was picked eighth in the 12-team MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll with 53 points.
Rogers State topped the women's preseason poll with three first-place votes and 110 points. Washburn received four first-place votes and finished second with 106 points, followed by Nebraska Kearney with three first-place votes and 101 points.
Central Missouri was fourth with two first-place votes and 98 points, while Arkansas-Fort Smith, Central Oklahoma and Northwest Missouri rounded out the teams ahead of the Griffons.
MoWest was selected eighth, followed by Missouri Southern, Pittsburg State, Northeastern State and Newman.

What's Next
Following their trip to Warrensburg, the MoWest men will have two weeks to prepare for the Holiday Inn Express Invitational, which will be held at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph on Sept. 28–29.
The Griffon women will return to action Sept. 14–15, when they head to Joplin, Missouri, to compete in the MSSU Fall Invitational at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.
