ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Soccer has added Joshua Pooler as an assistant coach. Pooler brings coaching experience at both the collegiate and youth levels, having served as a head coach, assistant coach and goalkeeping coach. He is committed to developing student-athletes on and off the pitch through relationship building, mentoring, tactical and technical instruction, video analysis, talent identification and game management.
Pooler joins the Griffons after serving as an assistant coach at Western Colorado University during the 2025 season. Prior to that, he worked as the volunteer assistant and goalkeeping coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Presbyterian College after coaching at Southwest Mississippi Community College and Southeastern Community College. At Southeastern, Pooler served as interim head coach before returning to the assistant and goalkeeping coach role.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Pooler has coached with the Olympic Development Program as the South Region Boys Goalkeeping Coach and has held coaching positions with Challenger Sports, Willow Hill School and Nichols Middle School.
Pooler earned a Master of Education degree and a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. He also holds a United Soccer Coaches Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma, a United States Soccer Federation "D" License and an English as a Second Language endorsement.
