MAYETTA, Kan. - Griffon Men's Golf finished 8th in a field of 17 teams at the Firekeeper Open at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas Tuesday.
MoWest had a tough final round with a team score of 309 (+21) on Tuesday - 16 strokes higher than Monday's second round. The Griffons finished with a three-round score of 889 (+25) - one stroke behind Newman and six strokes outside the top five. Central Oklahoma won the event with a score of 855 (-9), 13 strokes ahead of second place Washburn.
Aiden Asby was the top Griffon on the board with a three-round score of 219 (+3), tying for 15th. He birdied on 4 and parred each of his last 10 holes.
Bennett Berger tied for 32nd with a score of 223 (+7).
Tim Johnston tied for 41st with a 224 (+8).
Parker Boggins tied for 55th with a 227 (+11).
Parker Bunting ended up tied for 66th with a 229 (+13).
MoWest will next compete in the MIAA Men's Golf Championships April 13-15 at Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Missouri.
