ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Softball (28-17, 7-13 MIAA) enters the final week of the 2026 regular season with postseason positioning on the line.
MoWest opens the week on Tuesday, April 28, hosting No. 2 Pittsburg State in a rescheduled doubleheader at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Griffons will also recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month by dedicating the games as the 2026 Teal Game.
MoWest will then close the regular season on Friday, May 1, traveling to Maryville, Missouri, for a doubleheader against Northwest Missouri State at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The final games of the regular season could further impact seeding heading into the conference tournament.
With four games remaining, MoWest holds a two-game lead over Fort Hays State for the final spot in the MIAA Tournament. The Griffons (7-13 MIAA) are in control of their postseason path, needing just one win to officially clinch a berth. MoWest could also secure the final spot with a Fort Hays State loss, as the Tigers (5-17 MIAA) have just two games remaining on May 2 against Nebraska Kearney.
What's Next

The championship is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 – Sunday, May 10 at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia, Kansas, with Emporia State serving as the host institution.
