Annual Golden Griffs set for May 4 at Missouri Theater

Awards show to start at 6:30pm

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -The 26th Annual Golden Griffon Awards return to Missouri Theater in downtown St. Joseph on Monday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m.

The annual event, presented by the News-Press Now, is a live, ESPY-style multimedia show that serves as a year-in-review, while also honoring 13 Griffon student-athletes, one from each sport, who are nominated for the Bradley Family Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year Award. 

The nominees and awards are built around  MoWest's 'Three Cs' of classroom, competition and community.

The Golden Griffs will be hosted by MoWest Director of Broadcasting and play-by-play 'Voice of the Griffons' Tommy Rezac, along with members of the MWSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee leadership panel.

The Golden Griffs event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 5:30pm.  If you're interested in attending, please RSVP to Connie Brock by Friday, May 1. You can email cbrock2@missouriwestern.edu, or call 816-271-4481.
