KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Week ten Athlete of the Week honors for the 2026 women's tennis season, presented by ClassicCourt, the league's official tennis surface.

Jevrosima Mitic earned her first weekly honor of the season, becoming the second Griffon to receive the honor this year, joining Johanna Priedite who was named week's five and nine Athlete of the Week.

No. 40 Griffon Tennis (14-2, 5-0 MIAA) went 2-0 on the week, highlighted by a 4-3 win over No. 35 Central Oklahoma and a 7-0 sweep of Newman in conference action.

Mitic delivered another strong week across both matches. Against Central Oklahoma, she secured a key point at No. 2 singles with a straight-set 6-3, 6-1 win over a No. 60 ranked opponent, helping lift the Griffons to a 4-3 team victory.

She followed with another dominant showing against Newman. Partnering with Alejandra Ramirez Botella, Mitic claimed a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles to set the tone. In singles, she controlled the match at No. 2, earning a 7-5, 6-0 victory to help complete the sweep.

With the results, the Griffons extended their winning streak to 12 matches and remain unbeaten in MIAA play. Mitic's steady performance at the top of the lineup in both doubles and singles continues to play a key role in the team's success.

What's Next
No. 40 Griffon Tennis continues its MIAA stretch with three matches in three days. The Griffons travel to Topeka on Thursday, April 16 for a 2 p.m. matchup against No. 18 Washburn.

MoWest returns home on Friday, April 17 to host Fort Hays State at 2 p.m. at the Noyes Tennis Courts.

The weekend concludes Saturday, April 18, as the Griffons travel to Emporia for an 11 a.m. match against Emporia State.
