RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Griffon Tennis improved to 6-2 on the season with a 4-0 victory over Arkansas Tech on Sunday at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.

The Griffons secured the win behind strong singles play, claiming four completed matches to earn the sweep. Doubles competition was not completed as the match moved directly into singles play.

Cristina Granero Boj gave MWSU a point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, while Jevrosima Mitic followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles. Alejandra Ramirez Botella added another straight-set win at No. 5 singles, defeating Natalya Montoya 6-2, 6-1.

Johanna Priedite clinched the fourth point for the Griffons at No. 1 singles, earning the victory by opponent retirement after leading in the opening set. Matches at No. 4 and No. 6 singles were left unfinished once the team result was decided.

Griffon Tennis continues its road swing on Monday, March 16 with a matchup at Henderson State. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
