ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Softball (18-3) returns to Griffon Softball Field this week for a four-game homestand, beginning with a non-conference doubleheader against Minnesota State Moorhead on Thursday before opening MIAA play against Fort Hays State on Saturday. The Griffons are also off to the best start in program history through the first 21 games of the season.
MoWest will host Minnesota State Moorhead (1-18) on Thursday, March 12 for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m., with game two scheduled for 2 p.m. The Griffons previously faced Minnesota State Moorhead earlier this season at the Midwest College Classic in Shawnee, Kansas, where MoWest picked up a 9-4 victory.
Following Thursday's games, the Griffons will shift their attention to conference play as they host Fort Hays State (10-9) for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14. First pitch is set for 12 p.m., with game two scheduled for 2 p.m. at Griffon Softball Field.
While Saturday marks the MIAA opener for the Griffons, it will not be the conference opener for Fort Hays State, as the Tigers begin league play on Friday against Central Missouri.
Thursday's doubleheader against Minnesota State Moorhead will feature live video, live stats, and radio coverage. Saturday's games against Fort Hays State will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available on the Griffon Athletics website.
What's Next
Griffon Softball continues MIAA play on the road next weekend with a four-game trip to Oklahoma. MoWest will face Northeastern State in a doubleheader on Friday, March 20 with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by game two at 5 p.m. in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
The Griffons will then travel to Claremore to take on Rogers State in another conference doubleheader on Saturday, March 21 beginning at 1 p.m., with the second game scheduled for 3 p.m.
