Griffon Lacrosse returns home for 2026 opener, Sunday matchup moved indoors

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Lacrosse (3-1) returns to St. Joseph for its 2026 home opener after opening the season with four consecutive road contests, including a three-game swing through Colorado.

Due to projected inclement weather and below-freezing temperatures, Sunday's matchup against Concordia–St. Paul has been moved indoors to the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex. The contest was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. at Spratt Memorial Stadium, but will now begin at 11 a.m. inside the GISC.

Sunday marks just the fourth time in program history that the Griffons will compete inside the GISC during the program's six-year existence. Last season, MoWest also opened its home slate indoors vs Colorado Mesa.

The Griffons enter the matchup looking to build on last year's 12-5 victory over Concordia–St. Paul and continue their strong start to the 2026 campaign.

Admission is free; however, there is no fixed seating inside the facility and spectator space is limited. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Food and drink are not permitted inside the GISC. Entry will be available through the double doors nearest the Lot I parking entrance off Circle Drive. There will be no GLVC Network video or radio broadcast, but fans can follow the action via Live Stats.
