ROLLA, Mo. – Aidyn Woodall's game-winning goal in the 71
st minute keeps Griffon soccer unbeaten, as MoWest came away with a 2-1 win at Missouri S&T on Friday night at Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla.
The Griffons (3-0-1) got down 1-0 in the 24
th minute when S&T's Adriana Benassi struck first on an unassisted goal.
MoWest had the answer just five minutes later though, as freshman
Rosemary Pujado notched her first career goal off of an assist from
Nicoletta Froehlich, leading to a 1-1 tie at halftime.
After more than 25 minutes of scoreless play to open the second half, Woodall scored her team-leading second goal this season off of an assist from
Kendall Knisley in the 71
st minute.
Both of Woodall's goals this season have been game winners. She led the team Friday with three shots – all of them on goal.
Pujado finished with two shots-on-goal. The Griffons outshot the Miners 13-4, including 9-3 on goal. S&T was limited to just one total shot in the second half.
Morgan Byrd recorded two saves in goal, playing the full 90 minutes. Froehlich and
Maddy Harmon also went the full 90 minutes on defense.
MoWest stays on the road Tuesday to conclude non-conference play at William Jewell. The match is set for a 5 p.m. start at Greene Stadium in Liberty, Missouri.

- This match marks the first win at Missouri S&T in program history in just the second ever trip to Rolla. The last trip to S&T was in 2007. It's also the first road win of the season for MoWest.
