YWCA Griffon Golf Classic Weekend Returns July 12 & 14

Charity event returns to two-day format, including live auction and golf outing

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –
 An event spanning two decades strong, the single-biggest fundraiser for Griffon Athletics is back as the 23rd Annual YWCA Griffon Classic weekend is set for  July 12th and July 14th.

The festivities begin on Saturday, July 12th with a "Meet the Griffs" dinner, social and live auction, hosted by InspireU located at 521 Felix Street in downtown St. Joseph. Several activities highlight the evening including great food, beverages,a raffle drawing and live auction. The evening includes an impressive list of silent & live auction items of autographed sports memorabilia, game day and event experiences, golf trips, vacations, MWSU-themed items, pub décor and more. Each participant playing in the tournament receives two tickets to the party.  For persons not playing in the tournament, tickets are available for preorder for $25 per person (at the link above) or $30 at the door the night of the event, which includes free dinner and drink specials all evening.  Doors open at 5pm with a cocktail hour on the rooftop patio, dinner at 6pm and the live auction beginning at 7:15pm.

The live auction items are as follows:

  1. NCAA Final 4 Package — 2026 Indianapolis. All session, Upper level game tickets for 2. Semi-finals (2 games) on Saturday April 4 and final on Monday, April 6. NCAA Fan Experience Hospitality for 2 and a 4-night stay in Indianapolis. Check in will be 4/3/26 and check-out on 4/7
  2. Pat Mahomes Autographed #15 chairback from Arrowhead Stadium with case. This limited-edition piece is #260/300
  3. Creed Humphrey autographed Chiefs jersey 
  4. WMO/Phoenix Open SkyBox Package — 2026 Phoenix Saturday, February 7, Admission for 2nd to 16th Hole SkyBox. Breakfast/Lunch Buffets and Open Bar are included along with 2-night stay at the Mountain Shadows Resort in Scottsdale.
  5. Travis Kelce autographed, full-size 'Lunar' white helmet with case
  6. Chiefs v Commanders Tickets/Parking 10/27 7:15pm (4 reserved seats Section 109 + parking
  7. Chiefs v Eagles Tickets/Parking 9/14 3:15pm (2 reserved seats Section 332 + parking) AND one (1) nights stay at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott
  8. Full size Patrick Mahomes autographed NFL Football by Wilson. This 3-sided white ball is perfect for autographs, of which Patrick's signature is on one whole panel. This ball was donated by the Kansas City Chiefs  
  9. Plaza Lights Private Flight -Experience the magic of the Holiday Season while soaring over Kansas City's world-famous Country Club Plaza. Take in a view that most do not get to see of over 250,000 shimmering holiday lights below accentuating the buildings and architecture in this immersive and unique experience. Private flight for 2, piloted by former Griffon Soccer Coach, Chad Edwards.
  10. Progressive Dinner with MWSU Coaches - Featuring a chauffeured four course meal and cocktail hour at various homes of Griffon head coaches, including Tyler Fenwick (football) and Matt Thrasher (golf  and administrators of your choosing. Package for up to 10 guests. 
  11.  Basketball Coaches Block Party - Hosted by new head men's basketball coach Brooks McKowen and head women's basketball coach Luke Scheidecker. This block party features an all-expenses paid steak-dinner cookout (Clark's Custom Meats) and keg (Will Fischer Distribution). Up to 15 guests. 

Golf action gets underway on Monday, July 14th, with a 9:00am shotgun start at St. Joseph Country Club. Each player receives a great tee gift including free lunch, free beverages, and a variety of Griffon apparel items. Over $3,000 in prizes will be up for grabs including a contest on every hole and hole-in-one contests. 

Proceeds from the event benefit the YWCA St. Joseph Shelter and MWSU Athletics teams.
