WICHITA, Kan. - Missouri Western tennis (4-8, 1-4 MIAA) took a 5-2 loss at Newman on Friday at Riverside Tennis Courts in Wichita.
Newman, who beat Western for the first time since 2019, took No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and went on to win No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Johanna Priedite and
Celia Castaño Malnero proved to be bright spots for Missouri Western, as they combined to win No. 2 doubles, 6-3.
Priedite proceeded to win No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-1. Castaño Malnero came through as well with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in No. 3 singles.
Missouri Western heads down to Edmond to face Central Oklahoma on Saturday at 12 p.m.
