ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western tennis (4-7, 1-3 MIAA) is back on the road this weekend, first playing at Newman Friday and then at Central Oklahoma Saturday.
Friday's match at the Riverside Tennis Courts in Wichita, Kansas is set for 1 p.m. Saturday's match from the Broncho Courts in Edmond, Oklahoma is set for noon.
Missouri Western was last in action this past weekend in Fort Smith, Arkansas, facing both Arkansas-Fort Smith and Northeastern State.
The Griffs beat UAFS 5-2 last Friday, but lost to NSU last Saturday, 4-3.
Northeastern captured No. 2 and 3 doubles, while also winning No. 1, 5 and No. 6 singles.

Cristina Granero Boj took a 7-6 (9-7) win in No. 1 doubles.
Johanna Priedite secured a win in No. 2 singles 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.
Celia Castaño Malnero dominated in No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1. Rey Garcia took No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4.
Missouri Western faces Newman (4-11, 0-2 MIAA) on Friday – a Jets team that's so far 4-0 in true home matches. The Griffs have won six straight matches against Newman dating back to 2020.
UCO (6-4, 2-1 MIAA) broke a four-match losing streak last Friday with a 5-2 win at home against Newman.
The Bronchos, a team picked to finish third in the MIAA preseason poll, feature Pete Komada – the No. 68 best singles player in NCAA Division II.
Missouri Western is 2-13 against UCO all time, but the Griffs have topped the Bronchos in each of the last two meetings.
