ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western lacrosse (0-1) returns to action this Sunday against CSU Pueblo (0-0) at noon inside Spratt Stadium. This will be the third all-time meeting between the Griffons and ThunderWolves.

TOP GRIFFON PERFORMERS
Senior attack/midfielder
Sam Pruitt picked up right where she left off last season with six points in the opener against Colorado Mesa. The three-time All-GLVC recipient notched a trio of goals and added three assists against the Mavericks. Additionally, she tallied five draw controls and three ground balls.

Junior
Caetryn Gilreath significantly impacted the offensive attack in her first game back in a Griffon uniform. She led the team with four goals and contributed two ground balls on the defensive end.

Brooke Tjernlund delivered a strong performance, netting two goals during an exhilarating fourth quarter. In addition,
Jordan Porter,
Maleah Sosa and
Clare Sondrall each added one goal for the Griffons.

Defensively, Porter led the Griffons with three caused turnovers, followed by
Tonesty Burt, Sondrall, Tjernlund, and
Grace Williams, who each had two.

Sophomore
Ava Garaway (0-1) made her first career start in goal for MWSU. The native of Thousand Oaks, California, faced 37 shots and recorded 16 saves.

HISTORY AGAINST CSU PUEBLO
Sunday's match will be the third all-time meeting between the two programs. The ThunderWolves claimed the inaugural meeting in 2021, winning 18-16. The Griffons responded with a convincing 14-7 victory the following year in St. Joseph.

CSU Pueblo finished the 2024 season 2-12 (0-10 RMAC) and was picked to finish fifth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with eight points.Â

Due to weather affecting their season opener against William Jewell, Sunday's match at Spratt Stadium will be the ThunderWolves first game of the season.

The ThunderWolves player to watch is goalie Breonna Mason. The sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was selected as an All-RMAC Honorable Mention last season. She finished with 154 saves and recorded 58 ground balls.
