ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon Women's Basketball (2-3) will play its first true road games of the 2025-26 season as they head south into Arkansas to play No. 10 Harding (3-0) and Ouachita Baptist (1-1) - both members of the Great American Conference.
Saturday's game at the Rhodes-Reaves Fieldhouse in Searcy, Arkansas is set for 5:30 p.m., while Monday's game at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia, Arkansas is also set for 5:30 p.m.
Both games are free to watch online. Saturday's game at Harding can be viewed at TheLink.Harding.edu, while Monday's game at Ouachita Baptist can be viewed on YouTube by searching for 'Ouachita Sports Digital Network.'
Where Were We?
MoWest tied a school record with 17 made three-pointers and tied for the fifth most points scored in a single game in a 111-36 takedown of Cottey College on Tuesday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
The Griffons shot 17-of-40 (42.5%) from three and 42-of-80 (52.5%) from the field. The 42 made field goals tied for the sixth most in a single game in program history.
MoWest was also dominant on the glass, winning that battle 47-15, including a whopping 23-4 on the offensive glass. The Griffons turned the Comets over 27 times and scored 44 points off of those turnovers. The Griffs also had 30 second chance points off of the 23 offensive rebounds.
LaNicia Parker led seven Griffons in double figures with a career-best 20 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lindsey Kelderman had a season-best 20 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting night from deep. She also had five rebounds and three assists.
Sydney Lewis turned in a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Mia Morel also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
Ambranette Storr had a season-best 12 points, and
Meredith Rieker had a season-best 11 on a 3-of-4 effort from long range.
Opponents at a Glance
Harding started the season preseason ranked No. 25, coming off of a Great American Conference tournament championship and a trip to the NCAA tournament the previous season.
The Bison have lived up to the hype, scoring wins early this season over No. 23 Tampa and No. 3 Texas Woman's. Harding lost each of its top three scorers from last season, but returned two starters and added seven new players. Tim Kirby is in his 21st season as the head coach of Harding, where he's won over 400 games and four GAC regular season conference titles.
Saturday will be the first ever meeting between Harding and MoWest. Harding is the fourth team ranked 13th or higher that MoWest will have played already this season.
Ouachita Baptist scored its first win of the season this past Thursday with a 77-70 win at home over Mississippi College. The Tigers were picked to finish 11th out of 12 teams in the Great American Conference preseason coaches' poll.
Ouachita Baptist went 9-17 last season. Senior Madeleine Tipton leads this year's squad early on with 17 points and four rebounds per game. She's a returning starter who was Honorable Mention all-GAC last season. Ouachita returns five players from the previous season who started 15 games or more.
Monday is also the first ever meeting with Ouachita Baptist. The Tigers took a loss early this season at MIAA member Northeastern State, 74-58, on Nov. 18.
