ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon Women's Basketball (2-3) tied a school record with 17 made three-pointers and tied for the fifth most points scored in a single game in a 111-36 takedown of Cottey College on Tuesday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
MoWest raced out to a 29-6 at the end of the first quarter and the lead only grew from there.
The Griffons shot 17-of-40 (42.5%) from three and 42-of-80 (52.5%) from the field. The 42 made field goals tied for the sixth most in a single game in program history.
MoWest was also dominant on the glass, winning that battle 47-15, including a whopping 23-4 on the offensive glass. The Griffons turned the Comets over 27 times and scored 44 points off of those turnovers. The Griffs also had 30 second chance points off of the 23 offensive rebounds.
LaNicia Parker led seven Griffons in double figures with a career-best 20 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lindsey Kelderman had a season-best 20 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting night from deep. She also had five rebounds and three assists.
Sydney Lewis turned in a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Mia Morel also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
Ambranette Storr had a season-best 12 points, and
Meredith Rieker had a season-best 11 on a 3-of-4 effort from long range.
MoWest will play its first true road game of the season this Saturday when they head to Searcy, Arkansas to play No. 10 Harding. Tip-off from the Rhodes-Reaves Field House is set for 5:30 p.m.
