SEARCY, Ark. – Griffon Women's Basketball started its two-game road trip on Saturday with an 86–71 loss to No. 10 Harding Lady Bisons at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
MoWest trailed early as Harding opened with a strong first half, taking a 22–13 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 44–29 at halftime.
The Griffons battled back with a big third quarter, shooting 54.5 percent on 12-of-22 from the field while outscoring the Bisons 28–15 to cut into the deficit. The Lady Bisons' lead was only 59–57 after the third quarter.
Harding answered with a strong 27-point fourth quarter to pull away late and close out the game by a final score of 86–71.
Both teams finished at 42 percent shooting from the field, but MoWest generated extra chances by winning the battle on the boards 40–34, highlighted by a 13–7 advantage in offensive rebounds.
The Griffons also controlled the interior with a 36–16 margin in points in the paint, while Harding leaned heavily on its perimeter attack, knocking down 15-of-27 three-point attempts 55.6 percent, tying for the second-most made threes in its program history.
Nakiya Harris led the Griffons with 18 points on 6-11 FG, 3-4 3PT, and 3-4 FT, adding nine rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Ana Oliveira Dias followed with 13 points on 6-16 FG, 1-3 3PT, finishing with two rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
LaNicia Parker also scored 13 points on 5-13 FG, 1-3 3PT, and 2-4 FT, while totaling eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Mia Morel added 12 points on 4-8 FG, 1-2 3PT, and 3-4 FT, along with one rebound and two assists.
