ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Women's Basketball fell against No. 11 Concordia–St. Paul, 78-64 on Saturday night in the final game of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Central Region Showcase at Civic Arena in St. Joseph.

After a slow opening quarter that saw the Griffons trail the Golden Bears 13–5, MoWest's offense finally found its rhythm. The Griffons battled back to cut the deficit to five at 16–11 with 8:52 remaining in the second quarter. Concordia–St. Paul answered with a big surge of its own, stretching the lead to as many as nineteen. At halftime, the Golden Bears held a 41–27 advantage over MWSU.

In the third quarter, the Griffons continued to chip away, trimming the Concordia–St. Paul lead to just nine at 56–47 with 2:05 left in the period. Ultimately, the Griffons fell to the No. 11 Golden Bears by a final score of 78–64.

Ana Oliveira Dias posted a team-high 24 points, going 11-for-16 from the floor and 1-for-2 from three. She also added four assists and five steals.

Mia Morel added 13 points, shooting 3-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-8 from deep while going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. She also led the Griffons on the glass with seven rebounds.

Lindsey Kelderman added 8 points on a strong 3-for-5 performance, including a perfect 2-for-2 from deep. Jada Smith rounded out the top scorers with 6 points, finishing 3-for-8 from the floor.

The Griffons will host their first home game of the season against Cottey College on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. inside the Looney Complex.
