Griffon men's, women's basketball to partake in annual MIAA Media Day

MWSU's two new head coaches to meet with the league's media.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA hosts its 2025 Basketball Media Day on Monday, October 6, at the College Basketball Experience in downtown Kansas City.

MIAA basketball coaches from all 14 schools will travel to Kansas City to participate in the annual media day. The event begins at 9 a.m. Monday. Following Commissioner Mike Racy's opening remarks, MIAA head coaches will participate in 15-minute press conferences to speak on the upcoming season and take questions from the media.

Fans can watch all the action live, for free, on The MIAA Network. Voice of the Griffons Tommy Rezac will be on site, conducting one-on-one interviews with Griffon coaches and players. Those conversations will be posted to the Griffon Sports Insider Podcast page.

This MIAA season will be the first for new MoWest head basketball coaches Luke Scheidecker (women's) and Brooks McKowen (men's). The two new coaches will take the podium together Monday morning at 9:45 CT.

Women's basketball unofficially gets started with an exhibition at Division I Creighton on October 22 before seeing defending DII national champion Grand Valley State at St. Joseph Civic Arena on October 31 in the D2CCA Tip-off Classic.
