MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. — Play was stopped late in Round 2 of the MSSU Fall Invitational at Shangri-La Resort, with MoWest sitting tied for second at 575 strokes (+24). The Griffons turned in a strong second round, improving from 313 strokes (+25) in Round 1 to an impressive 262 (-1) before play was paused.
Leading the way for the Griffons,
Parker Bunting sits tied for ninth at +4 (E thru 16), followed by
Aiden Asby and
Parker Boggins, who are both tied for 16th at +5 (+1 thru 17) and +5 (-2 thru 17), respectively.
Central Oklahoma leads the field at 571 strokes (-5), following rounds of 293 (+5) and 278 (-10) to take control at the top of the leaderboard. Winona State joins MoWest in second at 579 strokes (+24), carding rounds of 311 (+23) and 268 (+1), while Washburn sits fourth at 598 strokes (+26) after rounds of 306 (+18) and 292 (+8).
Round 2 will resume Tuesday morning, with Round 3 beginning immediately after to close out the event at Shangri-La Resort. The Griffons will look to carry their momentum into the final day and make a strong push toward the top spot.
