LEXINGTON, Ky. – The College Sports Communicators (previously called CoSIDA) announced the 2024 NCAA Division II CSC Academic All-America® teams, and Missouri Western senior Lily Kurz earned a spot on the Second Team.
 
Kurz, a social work major from Longmont, Colorado, became the third player in the program's history to receive this honor, joining First Team selections Marian Broderick-Corbin (2005) and Ali Tauchen (2021).
 
The middle blocker achieved a 4.00 GPA this season and played a vital role in leading the MWSU volleyball team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017. Additionally, she was recognized on the MIAA Honor Roll and earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete and MIAA Academic Excellence recognition.
 
Four standouts headline a group of outstanding student-athletes named to the 2024 Academic All-America® women's volleyball teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Anna DeBeer from the University of Louisville, Teagan Starkey from Concordia University, St. Paul, Olivia Foley from Juniata College and Eva Joldersma of Indiana Wesleyan University lead the Academic All-America® teams by being named as the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III as well as the NAIA, respectively.
 
The four Academic All-America® teams, totaling 80 student-athletes, have a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average with 23 members posting a perfect 4.00 GPA.
 
The Division II team had a 3.89 cumulative GPA.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
