LINCOLN, Neb. -The Missouri Western men's cross country team finished seventh, and the women finished 18th this morning at the Greeno/Dirksen Cross Country Invitational.
"We are really fit but flat in the competitive sense, but I thought we battled well given where we are in our training block," commented head coach
Cody Ingold. "We had some really good individual performances today, and we have five weeks to find the competitive fire that we will need at the MIAA meet."
Sophomore
Pau Valderrama led the way on the men's side, finishing 14th at 25:19.031 in the 8000m.
Wimach Gilo (37th) crossed the line at 26:00.898, while
Peter Cuddy (44th) rounded out the top 50 finishers for MWSU with a time of 26:08.152.
Senior
Lillian Cutler led the women with a 69th-place finish in the 5000m, finishing with a time of 19:44.592.
Annika Muller (115th) notched the second-best finish for the Griffons with a time of 20:33.429.
Western will return to action at the MWSU Cross Country Course for the Griffon Invite on Saturday, October 5
