LINCOLN, NE - The Missouri Western men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Saturday, heading back to the Cornhusker state for the Woody Greeno/Dirksen Cross Country Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The meet will be held at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln with the men's race starting at 10 a.m. and the women's at 10:50 a.m. Missouri Western will compete with dozens of schools from JUCO, NAIA, Division II and Division I. The Division I teams in the field will be scored separately from everyone else. Other MIAA teams in the field include Emporia State, Nebraska-Kearney and Northwest Missouri State.
Missouri Western was last in action on Sept. 6 at the Platte River Rumble "Gold" from Mahoney State Park in Ashland, NE. The men's team finished 5th out of seven teams in that event, while the women finished 6th out of eight teams.
Joshua Zachary finished that race in 17th with a time of 18:31.55 in the 6K race.
Pau Valderrama was 20th at 18:35.95.
Lillian Cutler led the way for MWSU on the women's side at the Platte River Rumble, placing 41st with a time of 19:19.62 in a 5K race.
