MIAA Upholds Protest; Griffon Tennis Defeats UCO 4-3

Box Score ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis team's loss to Central Oklahoma has been overturned, resulting in a Griffon win, the MIAA announced on Wednesday.

The move comes three days after the conclusion of the match on Easter Sunday where UCO had claimed a 4-3 victory. Head coach Alejandro De La Torre protested the result, citing a line-up violation in the number one singles match. The MIAA rules committee voted unanimously to uphold the protest, resulting in UCO forfeiting the line-up position in question. The forfeited singles match results in a 4-3 win for MWSU.

The 36th-ranked Griffons now move to 11-1 on the season and 2-0 in MIAA play.  Western returns to action on April 12th at Fort Hays State.
