Griffon Softball travels to Topeka for Washburn Invitational

ST. JOSEPH, Mo.  After opening up their home schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Maryville, Griffon Softball is back on the road this weekend for the Washburn Invite in Topeka, Kansas.

NOTABLES
  • Missouri Western is tied for fifth in the MIAA with hour home runs
  • Junior utility player Jada Collins and junior infielder Bubba Hoelscher lead the Griffons with a .500 batting average.
  • Collins, Hoelscher, sophomore outfielder Kaylea Fessler and senior outfielder Abby Dickey all lead MWSU with three hits apiece.
  • Freshman catcher/infielder Sarah Swallow leads the Griffons with two home runs.
  • Collins, Hoelscher and Swallow all lead the team with two RBI apiece.
  • Fessler leads the team with six walks.
  • Both Dickey and Hoelscher have one double.
