Griffon tennis handles Truman State Sunday

Griffons defeat Bulldogs in a fall meeting in St. Joseph.

Box Score St. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western tennis secured a 6-1 win over Truman State on Sunday at the Noyes Tennis Courts in St. Joseph.

It was Missouri Western's only match this fall and its first official contest of the 2024-25 season. The Griffons swept all of the doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches.

Johanna Priedite secured a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles. She, along with Cristina Granero Boj, also won 6-2 in No. 1 doubles. Granero Boj was dominant in her singles match as well, defeating Truman State's Abbi Worster 6-0, 6-0. 

Ellie Messenger and Elena Rey Garcia took No. 3 doubles, 6-4. Messenger won in No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0 as well.

Celia Castaño Malnero and Maeva Roguet took victory in No. 2 doubles 6-2. Castaño Malnero also won in No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3.

Griffon tennis will be back in action this spring. Their 2025 schedule will be finalized and made public in the coming weeks.
