DOUBLES
Missouri Western (13-6, 5-3 MIAA) got off to a tough start in doubles action, with Washburn winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. Ranked No. 7 in the nation, Maja Jung/Sofa Smagina defeated

SINGLES
Washburn (15-6, 6-2 MIAA) claimed its second point of the morning when Casie Curry won over
Cristina Granero Boj 6-1, 6-2 in No. 3 singles. MacGibbon fell to Smagina, the No. 2 player in Division II, 6-2, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. Ranked No. 29 in DII, Jung closed out the day with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Chavez, giving Washburn the 4-0 decision.
Freshly recognized as the MIAA Freshman of the Year, Casas Blas was tied with Marta Torres Rodriguez 2-6, 6-3, 3-0 in set three of No. 4 singles when the match was stopped, while Peralta Criado was deadlocked with Martensson 6-3, 3-6, 1-1 in No. 5 singles. Donnelly was surging back with a 3-1 lead in set two in No. 6 singles after losing the first set 6-4, leaving the match unfinished with Pensavalle.
