LIBERTY, Mo. — A late Griffon Baseball lead was let go on Tuesday night, as William Jewell used three-straight innings with at least one run scored to beat Missouri Western 8-4 at Talley Stadium.
Early on in the top of the second, Missouri Western (5-17) got on the board first thanks to a
Noah Wenger RBI groundout, scoring
Hunter Olson. Once William Jewell (15-7) took a 2-1 lead in their bottom half of the same frame, Olson crossed plate once more, this time after obliterating a three-run home run to left field to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth. However, the Cardinals brought home three runs in their bottom half of the same once again, answering back to take a 5-4 lead.
Two more Jewell runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh was enough insurance to close out the night, as
Travis Wiese grounded into a double play right before
Bryson McArn grounded out to end the game.
