Kroonenberg's first career goal forces 1-1 draw at No. 15 UCM

WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Thanks to late-game heroics from Keeley Kroonenberg, Missouri Western State Soccer and No. 15 Central Missouri played to a 1-1 draw on Friday on the road at South Recreation Complex.

The tie moved Missouri Western's record to 5-6-6 overall and 3-3-4 in Mid-America Intercollegiate action. Central Missouri (12-3-2, 7-1-2 MIAA) started the scoring when Ashleigh Martin scored in the 51st minute.

Just when things looked bleak, the Griffons responded to tie things up on a goal from Keeley Kroonenberg — her first career goal — in the 86th minute. 

GAME NOTES

  • Missouri Western received one yellow card.
  • Kroonenberg piled up seven saves for the Griffons out of 19 total Jennies shots.
  • Missouri Western recorded five shots on goal.

UP NEXT
The Griffons return home this Sunday to play Northwest Missouri State (7-4-6, 4-2-4 MIAA) at 1 p.m. on Senior Day at Spratt Stadium.
