ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Griffon Men's Basketball kept the score tight throughout the night, but a second-half outburst from Lincoln was too much for Missouri Western to handle on Thursday inside the MWSU Fieldhouse.
Missouri Western (8-9, 4-7 MIAA) found itself with a 24-21 lead thanks to two
JaRon Thames free throws and a
Julius Dixon layup at the 2:20 mark of the first half. That ended up being MWSU's final lead of the night once Lincoln's Artese Stapleton hit a three to tie the game, setting up Kevin Kone's go-ahead layup that put the Blue Tigers (11-6, 7-4 MIAA) for good. Lincoln started the second half on a 12-2 run, leading itself to a 70-56 win.
NOTABLES
- Thames led the Griffons with a game and season-high 19 points.
