ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Missouri Western State University Director of Athletics
Andrew Carter has announced the hiring of Scottie Moler as the department's new assistant director of athletics for compliance.
The search for Moler's eventual selection began earlier in July when longtime Compliance Director Eric Kramer left after a 15-year career at Missouri Western. Kramer had been at Missouri Western since 2007, leaving a lasting legacy with everyone he worked with as a Griffon. Former graduate assistant
Greysen Dudley took over the office in a part-time role for most of July.
Now with somebody in full-time position, Carter is confident Moler is the perfect person for the job.
"Scottie is a tremendous fit for us," Carter said."He is confident and intelligent and a great teammate. He will be a high level service provider for our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. We are grateful to have him be part of the Griffon family and want to welcome him to our city!"
Moler comes by way of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, as its assistant athletic director of compliance. From December of 2019 to this summer, Moler made an impact with his roles in academic evaluations, graduation/academic progress rate calculations, eligibility tracking and many more responsibilities.
"I am really looking forward to working in a department that is quite visibly focused on improving, and continuing the athletic successes on and off the field/court," Moler said. "I had great conversations with the staff I met with on campus, and can't wait to see what I can bring to the table to help MWSU continue to move forward. As with many Division II institutions, the department seems close, and those relationships with fellow staff members and students are what make work enjoyable."
With taking over for someone like Kramer who was a mainstay in Griffon Athletics for a long time, Moler is ready to make his own mark at Missouri Western.
"Andy Carter and I had spoken a couple of times prior to my visit to campus, and I liked the energy, and student focused approach that our conversations had," Moler said. "Being from Iowa, I am also really excited to be closer to home, and being able to see family and friends more often."
Moler's first day at MWSU is Aug. 15.
