Griffon Baseball Bombards Bronchos for 12 Hits and Win

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — After recording two hits in game one of the series, Griffon Baseball's bats came back in a big way to help bury the Bronchos early in Sunday's 7-4 victory at the Spring Sports Complex.

The bombardment of Central Oklahoma began in the bottom of the second with a solo shot by Brenden Andersen, his first of the season. Ryan Neise picked things back up in the fourth with an RBI double to right to push Jared Munk across the plate. Moments later, Alex Crouch cranked a three-run home run to make it 5-0 in favor of the Griffons.

Missouri Western bounced back for their first MIAA win with 12 hits on Saturday, their second most in a game this season. Griffon Baseball head coach Buzz Verduzco credits this to his squad's short memory.

"We can't really take the feeling of those losses into the next game," Coach Verduzco said. "I think that's what the guys did here, and they did a really good job with it today."

Today's moonshot by Crouch gives him five overall and puts him all alone in third place for home runs in the MIAA. For someone who led the Griffons with 12 homers last season, Crouch says it's not the first thing he thinks about when stepping into the box.

"The recipe for it is trying not to hit them," Crouch said. "That's the key to baseball."
