ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Monday's game was a bitter way to close out Missouri Western's opening home series at the Spring Sports Complex, losing 14-2 in seven innings against Central Oklahoma.
Up 2-1 after the bottom of the third inning, Griffon Baseball (3-9, 1-2) was rolling off the momentum of two RBI doubles by Chaz Verduzco and Brady Holden. A Broncho (7-4, 2-1) barrage of back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fourth took that lead away and put UCO up 10-2. The Bronchos brought that momentum into the bottom half of the frame, striking out the side and stifling MWSU's offense for the rest of the game to take the series 2-1.
