ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — With a season-high 15 threes made, Griffon Men's Basketball blitzed Friends early and often, taking down the Falcons, 82-49, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
Missouri Western (7-3, 3-1 MIAA) never trailed against Friends, finding its only lead of the night thanks to a
Julius Dixon three 34 seconds into the ballgame. The Falcons (3-11, 2-6 KCAC) brought it as close as 14-12 before junior guard
Reese Glover yanked Friends' momentum away with his first of five 3-pointers made, propelling him to score a game-high 15 points. Once Glover got hot, the floodgates opened for the rest of the Griffons, and MWSU never looked back after leading at halftime, 35-18.
The largest lead of the night came way thanks to a
Zion Swader three at the 7:41 mark of the second half, giving the Griffons a 38-point lead at 75-37. Swader finished with 10 points, four steals and two breakaway dunks that helped set the tone early in the first half and keep it that way in the second.
