SHAWNEE, Okla. — The Griffons hit multiple milestones on Thursday night vs. Oklahoma Baptist, but a 16% uptick in shooting in the second by the Bison helped them win, 78-67, in a non-conference matchup at the Noble Complex.
Missouri Western (1-2) led at the half, 39-35, but only scored 28 in the second, leading all the way to the 8:13 mark. D.J. Freeman slashed in in a layup that turned into the go-ahead field goal for OBU (1-2), ultimately the Bison their first win of the season in their home opener.
GAME NOTABLES
- Reese Glover scored a season-high 18 points, going 6-for-11 off the bench. He now has 203 made 3-pointers in his career, which is third all-time in MWSU history.
- Will Eames' three steals gives him 103 for his career.
- Julius Dixon scored a career-high 17 points for the second time this season.
- JaRon Thames made his season debut after battling a hand injury this preseason. He played 12 minutes while pulling in four rebounds and dishing two assists.
- Trey Doomes of OBU scored a season-high 25 points, as all five Bison starters scored in double digits.
